Dracut/Tyngsboro Catches Fire, Moves Into D3 North Hockey Semifinals

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how you played before the state tournament, it only matters how you play once you get there.
The Dracut/Tyngsboro hockey team made the Division 3 North Sectional as the No. 4 seed with an 8-7-3 regular season record. A quick exit wouldn't have been a shock. But DT has found its skating legs in the post-season, notching a pair of wins to move into the semifinals this week.
The Middies opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over No. 13 Northeast Regional and followed it up with a 3-2 win over No. 5 Watertown in the quarterfinals.
Next up is top-seeded Newton South (14-2-5) in the semis, Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the Chelmsford Forum.
Jared DeBruin had a goal and an assist to lead the win over Northeast Regional. Jake Callery also scored for the Middies. Andrew Dickson had two assists. Preston Wilson earned the shutout in net with 15 saves.
Against Watertown, junior Patrick Crowley played hero, scoring the game-winning goal with 3:16 to play in the third period.
Callery had a pair of goals, with Workman assisting on both of them. Callery's second tally tied the game later in the second period.
