After two strong home tournament wins, the Greater Lowell boys basketball team will head to Worcester this week for a date in the Central Mass. Division 3 semifinals.
The No. 4 Gryphons (17-5) will meet top-seeded Hudson High (21-1) on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m. at WPI's Harrington Auditorium, with a berth in the sectional final on the line.
Greater Lowell opened the tournament with a 56-52 win over No. 13 Tyngsboro (11-10). Next up was No. 5 Bellingham (16-6), which gave GLT all it could handle before the Gryphons pulled away for a 62-50 quarterfinal win.
Paul Choat had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Greater Lowell. Luis Huertes poured in 19 points.

The Greater Lowell girls ended their season with a record of 14-8 after falling in the Central Mass. Division 3 quarterfinals.
The Gryphons, seeded 6th, got a fist round bye, then opened play with a 50-35 swin over West Boylston. But in the quarterfinals, the Gryphons ran into a tough squad from Maynard (17-5) and fell to the No. 3 Tigers, 57-44.
