Program Educator Opportunity- Outbreak Public Health Summer Program

The Public Health Museum (PHM) in Tewksbury is seeking to hire a Program Educator to assist with the planning and implementation of its summer program Outbreak! - a week long introduction to the diverse field of public health and career opportunities for Junior and Senior high school students located on the historic campus of the Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.

We are looking for an experienced high school educator or health coordinator to manage the curriculum and coordinate the participation of the students and volunteer public health professionals.

This year Outbreak! runs from Monday August 5th to Friday August 9th. 
We expect 3 to 5 hours per week for planning, 40 hours for daily attendance during Outbreak week, and up to 10 hours post Outbreak for evaluations. 
This is a 9 month contract with a possibility of extension and growth. 
The position reports directly to the chair of the Outbreak Committee.

The ideal candidate will have:
        A Bachelor’s Degree in education, public health, communications or other relevant field
        Experience building and implementing educational curriculums that promote engagement and utilize interactive activities.
        A general understanding of public health
        Experience instructing or coaching professionals on public speaking and presentations
        Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Drive
        Strong interpersonal skills and high energy and enthusiasm for education 

outside of the classroom

Attendance during the week-long program is required $30/hour, no benefits, flexible and remote hours available.
