Police: Dracut man faces drunk driving charge in NH crash

A Dracut man is facing multiple charges after crashing his truck in Merrimack, NH
MERRIMACK, N.H. - A 30-year-old Dracut man is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 12 in Merrimack district court on several charges, including being a repeat drunk driver, following an accident where he drove off the highway and crashed into a tree, according to N.H. State Police.
Michael G. Koumantzelis, the dirver, was arrested on charges, including driving while impaired - subsequent offense, and operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for driving while intoxicated, according to State Police.
Trooper responded at 6:55 p.m. to a reported motor vehicle crash on F.E. Everett Turnpike where they found a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck had driven down an embankment and crashed into a tree, according to police.
Koumantzelis was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua with serious, but non-threatening injuries, police stated. The truck sustained heavy damage.
