Obituary: Manuel S. Pais, 64

Manuel S. Pais

LOWELL, MA - Manuel S. Pais, 64, died peacefully, Saturday, January 19th, at Tufts Medical Center, Boston, MA. He was the beloved husband of Diana M. (Coelho) Pais.

Manuel was born in Graciosa Azores, Portugal on October 28th, 1954, a son of the late Rosalina (Lima) and Orlando Pais. 

Prior to his retirement, Manuel worked as a screen printer at East Print Inc. in North Andover, MA for 30 years. However, he had worked at Pais Family Fish Market on Central Street in Lowell for the past four years. 

In his free time, Manuel enjoyed fishing and being a dedicated member of the Portuguese American Center, where he served as the past president and former manager. Additionally, he played on the over-40 Portuguese American Center's blue soccer team, and played in the band at the center. Manuel was a friendly outgoing man and will be remembered as so.

In addition to his wife, Manuel is survived and will be deeply missed by his three children, Lucia Maria Pais of Methuen, Ana and her husband Michael Picardi of Dracut, and Jason Pais and his companion Amelia Zbikowski-Simonini of Lowell; siblings, Maria DeLourdes Laboa and her husband Jose DeCosta-Labao of Portugal, Belmiro and his wife Merces Pais of Canada; grandchildren, Alani Lee, Julian, and Angelina DeSilva, and Ava and Anthony Picardi.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on SATURDAY, January 26th from 9 - 10 a.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, MA. His Funeral Mass will be held immediately following calling hours at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church 893 Central St., Lowell, MA. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tewksbury.
