From The Library Director: A Library May Change But The Tenets Remain The Same

Nanci Hill, Director, Parker Memorial LIbrary

It's been a busy few months at the Parker Library.  For starters, we have embarked on a new logo and branding process that will ultimately result in a new, patron-friendlier website.

During the months of September and October, the staff and trustees embarked on a logo project with Sterling Technologies that included a brainstorming meeting, looking at logos from other libraries that we liked, and several rounds of logos that we then made suggestions to and narrowed down.  The result is the logo that you see in the upper right hand corner of this article.  We are very pleased with the work that Sterling did and with our final logo.  The tree not only represents the trees on our front of the building, but also growth and knowledge.

After much discussion, we decided to keep our tagline, "information, ideas, experience."  Though libraries are changing, our basic tenets remain the same.  We have been and always will be about providing you with information, fostering ideas and offering a variety of experiences.

Now that our logo is done, we will begin to embark on our new website project.  We are excited about the possibilities for sharing information with you that this new design will offer.

As always, I am available to meet and talk with you.  This is your library and we want to hear what you think!
