Richard Gerard Davis

DRACUT, MA – Richard Gerard Davis, 57, passed away, Saturday, September 22nd, at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA. He was the beloved husband of Diana Twyman-Davis and they enjoyed 31 blissful years of marriage. Richard was the light of Diana’s life and she his.

Richard was born in Boston, on December 19th, 1960, a son of Veronica (McHugh) Davis and the late William Davis. He was a graduate of Tewksbury High, Class of 1980. After High school, Richard enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country proudly on the U.S.S. Okinawa LPH-3. One honor he really was proud of was earning First Increment. When he tested to go from an E3 to an E4 pay grade he scored in the top 10% of all the Disbursing Clerks in the Navy. Additionally, while serving in the Philippines, Richard volunteered with the ship's Chaplain to help build a school in one of the poorest communities. After serving in the Navy, Richard worked for the Gillette Co. (now Proctor and Gamble) in Andover and then later retired in 2003.

In his free time, he loved hockey. He played indoor dek hockey as goalie at Dracut Indoor Sports Center, for twenty plus years, where he made many long lasting connections and friendships. Richard was an avid baseball statistician, Cadaco baseball board game player, Trivial Pursuit fan, and cat lover. Family was especially important to him. He was exceptionally caring towards his nieces and nephews. Richard always hosted every holiday gathering. He was unselfish and would always go “Above and Beyond” in any way that he could to help a friend or family member.

Lastly, Richard had a very special place in his heart for Madison Marino, a young lady he had the pleasure of knowing and loving since infancy for the last 16 years.
