Dracut and State Police are asking for the public's help to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing that took place over the weekend.
The victim, identified as a 20-year-old Lowell man, was transported by ambulance to a Boston area hospital with serious injuries but he is expected to survive.
According to a spokesperson for the Office of DA Marian Ryan, Dracut Dispatch received a 911 call at around 2 a.m., reporting a shooting outside the G&G Quick Bite on Lakeview Avenue. Officers responding to the scene found the victim and determined he had been stabbed, not shot. The officers performed first-aid until an ambulance arrived.
Investigators believe the stabbing took place as the result of an altercation that escalated, between the suspect and the victim.
Dracut Police, Massachusetts State Police and the Middlesex District Attorney are coordinating their efforts in the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dracut Police Detective Division at 978-957-2123.
