Obituary: Mary Theresa (Walsh) Kennedy, 87

DRACUT, MA - Mary Theresa (Walsh) Kennedy, 87, a former 38 year resident of Burlington, MA, died peacefully, Monday, June 25th, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Bertram F. Kennedy Sr., with whom she married in 1953 and shared 63 years of marriage. 

Mary was born in Cambridge, MA on March 16, 1931, a daughter of the late Katherine A. (Lyons) and Jeremiah Walsh. She was educated in Cambridge at St. Johns Grammar and High school, class of 1949. 

Mary worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton and various retail positions throughout her life. 

In her free time, she enjoyed raising her five beloved children, camping, swimming, and knitting.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her five children, Theresa and her husband John Batten, Cynthia Kennedy all of Dracut, Christine and her husband Sidonio DeSousa of Summerville, SC, Bertram F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Amanda of Williston, VT, Brenda and her husband Fernando Silva of Fremont, NH; her nine grandchildren, Erin and Karen Batten, Gabriella and Nathaniel DeSousa, Olivia, Anthony, and Mary Silva, Jessica and Jared Kennedy; her one great grandson, Harrison Warner; her sisters, Sarah Mukern, Katherine Neily, Patricia Mancuso; her brother, Jeremiah Walsh; as well as many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on THURSDAY, June 28th, from 4 - 8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home at 9:15a.m. with her Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Tyngsboro on FRIDAY, June 29th, at 10a.m. Burial in Pine Haven Cemetery, 84 Bedford Street, Burlington, MA 01803. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Mary Magdalen Building Fund, 93 Lakeview Avenue, Tyngsboro, MA 01879.
