LOWELL: John F. Allwood, age 75, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died June 19, 2018 at Northwood following a brief illness. He was the widow of Claudette L. (Prince) Allwood who died in 2001.
He was born in Lowell, Jan. 6, 1943, son of the late John & Frances (Cameron) Allwood. He served in the US Army Reserves.
Prior to his retirement, he worked in construction for many years doing roofing & siding. He was a parishioner of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Church in Pawtucketville, and St. Patrick Church.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven & Melanie Allwood of Nashua, NH; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda McLellan, Sandra & Ronald Lerned, all of Lowell, Donna & Patrick Ferullo of Lowell & Nashua, Doris & James Cunningham of New Ipswich, NH; a brother, David Allwood of Dracut; a sister, Ann Nadeau of Methuen; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. He was father-in-law of the late John McLellan and Richard Betty.
