Post-Season Sports Roundup: Tewksbury's Frost Claims State Javelin Title, Middies LAX Makes History

Dracut junior Jovan Aigbekaen placed 2nd in the 110m hurdles in 14.78.
Tewksbury junior Lucas Frost won the State Championship in the javelin with a best throw of 179-10.
Tewksbury High senior Steven Wilson placed second in the pole vault with a best leap of 13-03.
Tewksbury High's fabulous freshman Makayla Paige placed 4th in the 800 meters in 2:12.22.
Tewksbury senior Krista Stracqualursi placed 8th in the shot put with a best throw of 37-04.5.
Dracut High senior Erin McMeniman placed second in the javelin with a best throw of 138-11. Winner Shira Stoller of Sharon set a new State Record with a throw of 156-10. The previous week, McMeniman had won the D3 State title in the javelin with a meet record.
BaseballDracut High (10-10) is seeded 14th in the D3 North Sectional. The Middies open play on the road Friday at 4 p.m. at No. 3 Brighton (12-3).
Greater Lowell Tech (14-4) is seeded No. 4 in the D2 North Sectional. The Gryphons open play Thursday at 4 p.m. at home against No. 13 Reading (11-9).
Tewksbury High (10-10) is seeded No. 14 in the D2 North Sectional. The Redmen open play Thursday at 4 p.m. at No. 3 Beverly (16-4).
SoftballDefending D2 North Sectional champ Dracut High (15-5) is seeded No. 7. The Middies open play Thursday at 7 p.m. at home against No. 10 Wilmington (13-7).
Shawsheen Tech (12-6) is seedd No. 6 in the D3 North Sectional. The Rams open play Friday at 5 p.m. at home against No. 11 Amesbury (12-8)
Girls LacrosseDracut High (9-9) was seeded No. 11 in the Division 2 North Sectional. The Middies were eliminated in the opening round of the tournament, 21-9, by No. 6 Austin Prep.
Shawsheen Tech (13-7) was seeded No. 10 in the D2 North Sectional. The Rams were eliminated in the opening round with a 19-3 loss to No. 7 Pentucket.
Boys LacrosseDracut High (9-9) is seeded No. 11 in the Division 3 North Sectional. The Middies made program history by recording their first-ever playoff victory, 10-3, upsetting No. 6 Shawsheen Tech (15-4). Dracut is scheduled to visit No. 3 Pentucket Regional (14-5) in a quarterfinal showdown, Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Shawsheen Tech was seeded No. 6 in the D3 North Sectional, with a 15-3 record. The Rams were shocked by No. 11 Dracut High, 10-3, in the opening round of the tournament.
