Obituary: Roland J. Gregoire, 79

LOWELL, MA - Roland J. Gregoire, 79, died peacefully following a brief illness, with family by his side, on Thursday, May 24th at Lowell General Hospital. He will join his beloved wife Beatrice R. (Rocha) Gregoire who preceded him in 2004.

Roland was born in Groton, on January 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Leo Gregoire and Leona Milot. He was a graduate of Lowell High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from Lowell Tech (now UMass Lowell). Roland proudly served our country in the US Navy on the USS Saratoga until he was honorably discharged. He spent over 30 years working in the aerospace industry prior to his retirement from Sanders/Lockeed Martin.

Roland was a loving and devoted husband and father. At 19 he married his soul mate and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this month. Roland and Bea enjoyed vacationing together with friends and especially their time in Wells, Maine. They made many cherished memories with family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Snell and her partner, Stephen Raffaelo both of Dunstable, Patricia "Patty" Lauziere and her husband, Kevin of Pepperell and Michele Paul of Dracut; siblings, Rita Michaud of Nashua, NH and Al Gregoire and his wife, Maree of Naples, FL; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

In addition to his wife, he was also predeceased by his two sons, David and John Gregoire and his brother, Raymond Gregoire.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, May 30th, at 10AM in St. Rita's Church, 158 Mammoth Road, Lowell.
