(Editor's Note: the following information was provided by the Dracut Library.)

Libraries all over the world are beginning to collect and circulate "Libraries of Things." These collections give patrons access to a large spectrum of items.

Here in Dracut, the first item we've added to our Library of Things is three hand-made, Native American Drums.  These drums will became available for check-out on Saturday, April 28th.

We have three drums; two 14" and one 12" drum.  Each family may have only one drum checked out at a time. You must be 18 years of age to check out one of our drums.  Drums will be available to Dracut residents only through October 2018.

Native American drums will circulate for two weeks are are non-renewable.  They are holdable. Holds should be placed through our online catalog, the same way that you would place a hold on any other item. To find them in the catalog, do a keyword search for "Native American Drums."  A full copy of the Borrowing Agreement is available via this link, or on our website, under "Forms and Policies."

In the future, you can look forward to the ability to borrow ukeleles, sewing machine, a giant wooden puzzle, a bocci set, and more!  Don't forget that we already circulate cake pans, a telescope, and Launchpads!
