Jeanne R. (Racette) Gagne
She was born in Lowell on March 11, 1939, a daughter of the late Roger Racette, Sr and Marilda (Croisetiere) Racette. Jeanne received her early education in Lowell schools and went on to work as a seamstress at various dress shops in the Lowell mills.
Jeanne was a lifelong resident of Lowell and a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Parish in which she was involved in many committees to keep the church open.
Jeanne got lucky and won the lottery and was able to buy a beautiful home for her and her son, Michael. She loved to play hostess and had many happy gatherings at her home. Most of all, Jeanne was a caregiver to all. She took care of her mom and dad, her aunt and uncle and anyone who needed her help.
Before her stroke, Jeanne enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and going to Toni's with her friends. She also enjoyed dancing, bingo and cribbage. She had a great wit about her and was always ready to spar with friendly give and take.
Jeanne's light of her life was her son, Michael Gagne of Medford and her twin grandsons, Gage and Gavin Gagne. She loved nothing more than when they would visit and they would play games and bingo. She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Dubreuil of Lowell and her brother, Robert Racette of Dracut. Also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Roger, Jr., Charles, Roland and Raymond Racette and her sister, Rita Gagne.
Jeanne's family would like to thank the staff at D'Youville Senior Care, especially the Sweetland Wing for the great care she received during the last eight years of her life.
