Dracut Police, along with NEMLEC K-9s units, are searching for a second suspect wanted in connection with multiple home break-ins in the Hildreth Street area.
One suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was taken into custody after officers had chased him from a home the men allegedly broke into. But the second suspect has, thus far, eluded capture.
According to Dracut Police Chief Peter Bartlett, law enforcement officers thought they had the second suspect located and surrounded a foreclosed house at 1332 Hildreth St. However, a search of the building did not locate the suspect.
Bartlett also said police are looking to talk with any additional residents whose homes may have been broken into by the two men.
According to a report on Lowellsun.com, police also had a Honda Civic towed from the scene. That vehicle is believed to have been connected to the suspects.
