Dream Season Continues, Dracut Gymnasts Advance To State Championship

They're not done yet.
The amazing 2017-18 season for the Dracut High gymnastics team continued over the weekend with a strong 3rd place showing among 12 teams at the North Sectional Championships at Algonquin Regional in Northborough.
With that performance, the Middies punched their ticket to the upcoming State Championship Meet on March 3 at Shrewsbury High.
According to Coach Paige Allen, it will be the team's first trip to the State Meet since the 1990s.
As a team, Dracut finished with 136.75 points, behind just Reading (143.725) and Masconomet (141.975).
Dracut's best event was the balance beam, where the Middies put up the second best score of the meet -- 35.225. Dracut was also 6th in the vault, 6th on the uneven bars and 4th on the floor exercise.
As for individual results, Olivia Drew placed 3rd on the beam (9.175) and 5th on the uneven bars (8.80).
Bryce McDonald was 5th on the vault (9.350), 8th on the beam (8.90), 8th on the Floor (9.125) and 8th for all-around (34.725).
Jessica Nugent was 7th on the uneven bars (8.650) and 7th for all-around (34.825).
