Middies, Gryphons Roundup: DHS Hockey Slams Bedford, Gryphon Girls Stay Hot

Calvin Desmarais (160), Ian Godbout (220) and Adil Njkam (285) each posted two victories on the day to lead the Middies.

Conventry (R.I.) 44, Greater Lowell 33

Greater Lowell is now 6-8 on the season.

Ron Rossetti went 3-0 at 120 pounds to lead the Gryphons.Several Gryphons had two wins each for the day, including Drew Carbonneau (106), Brett Weissbach (113), Patrick Carney (126), Gabe Rivera (170), Calvin Cyr (220) and Zachary Peletier (285).

Ice Hockey

Dracut/Tyngsboro 9, Bedford 4

Freshman Mikey Collett had two goals and two assists, as Dracut/Tyngsboro rolled over Bedford. Jake Callery added a pair of goals and an assist. Joe Gagnon had a goal and three assists for the winners.

Preston Wilson, Ryan Hardy and Caulin Martell all saw time in net for Dracut/Tyngsboro.

Greater Lowell 47, Whittier Tech 43

Greater Lowell improved to 9-1 with a hard fought win over Whittier.
Araceli Lopez dropped in a game-high 15 points to go along with eight rebounds to lead the Gryphons.

Kylie Bouley (13 points) had the play of the game, picking up a steal and cruising in for a layup with about a minute to play in the fourth quarter.  Fatta Krah had eight points and eight rebounds in the win.

Methuen 70, Dracut 43

Senior forward Melissa Iannuzzo had 19 points but it wasn't enough in the loss to Methuen. Junior guard Kat Morrissette chipped in with seven points.

Billerica 54, Dracut 35
Dracut trailed just 21-16 at halftime. But the Indians were able to pull away after intermission. Melissa Iannuzzo had 18 points in the loss. Sophomore guard Nikki Andersson added eight points.

Greater Lowell 42, Chelsea 9
The JV girls improved to 7-1 with the easy win. Leading the way for the Gryphons was Maddy Maybury with 13 points and Andrea Guerrero with 9. Playing great defense was Alissa Ramsden.

The Gryphons set 42 individual bests and seven relay bests to pick up the hard fought win in the pool.
