Claire N. (Poirier) Brown
She was born in Lowell on December 20, 1932, a daughter of the late Aquila and Clara (Levesque) Poirier. Claire was a resident of Dracut for many years.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a food preparation worker with U-Mass Lowell, South Campus, where she worked for many years.
Claire was a longtime member of the East End Club Womens Auxiliary where she played in the cribbage league. She loved playing cribbage and cards with her friends at the Dracut and Lowell Senior Centers and taking trips to the casinos. Earlier in her life, she enjoyed bowling and traveling with her husband.
She is survived by her children, Caroline Wilson and her husband, James, of Dracut and David Brown and his wife, Louise, of Freemont, NH; three grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Victoria Wilson of Dracut; a great granddaughter, Keira Wilson; a sister-in-law, Margie Poirier of Georgia; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the grandmother of the late James A. Wilson, III and pre-deceased by three brothers and three sisters.
BROWN - Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Claire at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Wednesday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 7pm. Funeral Thursday morning with a Prayer Service to take place at the Funeral Home at 10 o'clock. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
