DRACUT, MA - Helen J. (Samowski) Blanchard of Dracut, MA. 90, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 after a brief illness.
Helen was born in Lowell, MA on November 29, 1927 daughter of the late John and Apolonia (Stachowska) Samowski. She attended St. Stanislaus Grammar School and Lowell High School. She worked for several medical equipment companies as an assembler. She was a communicant of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, as well as a member of Holy Trinity Parish Senior Citizens, PAV Ladies Auxillary, and Our Lady of Chestochwa.
She is survived by her son, John Blanchard and his wife, Donna of Littleton, NH, her daughter, Geraldine "Geri" Heffner and her husband Dave of Groton, MA; four grandchildren, Ashlee Kehoe and her husband Nicholas of Pepperell, William Blanchard of Littleton, NH, Jessie Blanchard of Lowell, and David Blanchard of Littleton, NH. She is also survived by four great-grandsons, as well as many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews including her godchild, Leslie Hassan and her husband John of Dracut who were her loving caregivers.
Along with her husband, William Blanchard, she was predeceased by her five siblings, Anastasia Navaretta, whom she resided with for many years, Josephine Krysiak, Nina Shlimon, Edward Samowski, and Julian Samowski.
BLANCHARD - Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, December 20th from 9-11am at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA 01826.
