Celestine R. "Sally" (Alves) Healy
Born in Lowell, May 25, 1920, a daughter of the late Manuel Alves and the late Mary B. (Pereira) Alves. She was educated and graduated from Lowell High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary for the Boston and Maine Railroad.
In her spare time Celestine enjoyed cooking, baking, and painting. For many years, she loved spending her summers in Wells, ME. Celestine also had a passion for volunteering her time as a CCD instructor at St. John the Baptist Parish, Suncook, NH.
Celestine is survived and will be deeply missed by her two sisters, Theresa Alves, whom she lived with, of Dracut and Isabelle Francisco of Lowell; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Celestine also leaves a very dear friend of many years, Sister Mary Joseph of the Monastery of the Precious Blood of Manchester, NH.
Along with her husband Maurice, she was predeceased by her three siblings, Anthony and Beatrice Alves, and Mary Cote.
