Mom Alleged Her Daughter's Head Was Shaved Without Permission

A North Reading mother has filed a complaint with the Department of Children and Families, alleging that her daughter's head was shaved without permission.

According to a story published on WHDH.com, Denise Robinson's 7-year-old daughter has emotional and behavioral issues and lives in a group home in Dracut. According to Robinson's complaint, staff from the group home took her daughter out to get a haircut on Sunday. But instead of a trim or a style, the little girl was shaved bald, said Robinson.

Robinson also claims that when she complained to staff members, she was told not to worry because the hair would "grow back straight." Robinson took that as a racist comment, given that her daughter is bi-racial. Robinson said her daughter was very upset to lose all her hair.

DCF is investigating the complaint.
