Joanna C. (Modeski) Peroney
Born, in Lowell, June 11, 1916, the daughter of the late Stanislaw Modeski and the late Katarzyna (Wojtowicz) Modeski.
Mrs. Peroney was a graduate of St. Patrick's School and Lowell Trade School, where she won many awards for her sewing and cooking. Her delicious chocolate chip cookies were second to none.
Before retiring in her 70s Joanna was employed at various local mills and later worked at Symphonics and Wang.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and going to Foxwoods.
She was a lifelong member of the Polish American Veterans Women's Auxiliary.
Joanna was a quiet, gentle, kind-hearted hardworking , special person with a contagious smile. She lived a good life and cherished time with her family. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by a sister Mary C. Taraszkiewicz of NY. Two daughters Mary Bardzik and husband John, Cynthia Harter; and a son, Francis Peroney. As well as, five grandchildren John, Susan, James and his wife Debbie Bardzik; Stephanie Soules and her husband David and James F. Harter; two great-grandchildren Thomas J. Soules and Joshua Bardzik. She was the sister of the late Ferdinand Modeski, PFC US Army killed in action; Felix and Anthony Modeski.
ARRANGEMENTS- Friends may call at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Sunday, October 22 until 5 pm. Her funeral will take place Monday at 9 am from the funeral home followed by Her Funeral Mass at 10 in St. Michael's Church, Lowell. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
