Oct 02, 2017 03:24PM ● Published by Bill Gilman

The tragedy in Las Vegas has sent shockwaves around the country, including here in the Merrimack Valley.
At least 58 people died, including a police officer, and more than 500 have been wounded in what has been called the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
The guman, believed to have been acting alone, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the hotel room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay, that has served as his sniper's nest during the 15-minute attack.
Reaction on social media from throughout the region has ranged from sorrow to anger to astonishment that something like this was able to take place.
See below for a sample of local reaction.
