Dolores “Dolly” (Fournier) Comtois

DRACUT – Dolores “Dolly” (Fournier) Comtois, age 69, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. For 48 years, she was the beloved wife of Bernard Comtois.

She was born in Lowell, July 17, 1948, daughter of the late Paul & Madeline (Savard) Fournier. She attended St. Joseph Grammar School, and graduated from Lowell trade High School. A resident of Dracut for over 45 years, she was formerly of Lowell where she was a communicant of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church.

Prior to her retirement she was employed as a supervisor of housekeeping with the former St. Joseph Hospital in Lowell for many years. She also worked at the former Lowell Dress Co. for many years and Scotty Show in Lowell. Dolly loved her sports especially the Red Sox, and football; most of all she loved going shopping with her granddaughters Emily and Sarah.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline “Jackie” Goodwin and her companion Kevin Goyette; two granddaughters, Sarah and Emily Goodwin, all of Dracut; a sister, Claire Levesque; a brother, Paul Fournier, Jr.. Also two brothers-in-law and their wives, Norbert & Carol Comtois of Centerville, TN, Raymond & Brenda Comtois of Tyngsboro; two sisters-in-law, Claudette & Wilfred Moge of Derry, NH and Kathy Comtois of Dracut; also many nieces & nephews. Also many many friends, and mostly her best friends in Maine, Jeannette and Phil Wagner and Diane.  She was grandmother of the late Ashley Goodwin; and sister-in-law of the late Maurice Comtois, and Rita Guilmette.
