She was born in Lowell on Nov. 2, 1924, the daughter of the late James and Regina (DuFoe) Lyman. She was a resident of Lowell for many years and was formerly of Tewksbury.
Lillian dedicated her life to raising her six children and went on to work in the retail industry both early on and later in life. She retired from C.R. Bard in Billerica where she worked for many years as a quality control inspector.
She loved to knit, crochet and sew. She loved spending summers at York Beach, ME. She loved her dogs, lighthouses and was an avid New England sports fan.
Lillian is survived by her six children, Brenda Knapper and her husband, Edward, of Dracut, Judy Fisher and her husband, Donald, of Vernon, NJ, Fran LeBlanc and her husband, John, of Nashua, NH, Roger Plaisted and Yvonne McCann of Westford, Karen Thorson and her husband, Edward, of Newbury, NH, and James Plaisted and Emma Savard of Lowell; also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special "Thank You" to Jorge for all his help and being there for Lillian when she needed him.
She was the sister of the late Madeline Dillon, Irene Picard and James Lyman, Jr.
ARRANGEMENTS - Family and friends may gather to honor and remember Lillian at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell on Monday, Sept. 25, from 4 to 8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Michael's Church, Lowell. Friends attending are asked to please go directly to the Church. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 Merrimack St. Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
