Obituary: Paul J. Desjardins, 71

He was born in Lowell on June 7, 1946, a son of the late Arthur and Clara (Coache) Desjardins. Paul was a lifelong resident of Lowell and attended St. Joseph High School.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a millwright at Raytheon in Lowell and Andover for forty two years. Paul was a member of the former Club Passe Temps, CMAC and the East End Club in Lowell.
He was a fan of the Lowell Spinners and was a season ticket holder since their inaugural season. He was also an avid fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics and enjoyed working in his yard. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a great friend.
Besides his wife, Mary, he is survived by his children, James Desjardins and his wife, Amy, of Lowell, and Jennifer Forte and her husband, Michael, of Beverly; a sister, Joanne Beland of Dracut; three grandchildren, Julia and Matthew Forte and Emily Desjardins; a brother-in-law, James McAnespie and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lowell; a sister-in-law, Claire Desjardins of Salem, NH; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Yvette Deschenes and George and Roger Desjardins.
ARRANGEMENTS -- Family and friends may gather to honor and remember Paul at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Sunday, Sunday, Sept. 24 from 2 to 6pm. Funeral Monday morning with a prayer service to take place in the funeral home at 10 o’clcock. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
