Henry John Stys
Henry was born in Lowell, MA on April 1, 1935, a son of the late Joseph and Monica (Korsok) Stys. He was raised and educated in Lowell and a graduate of the Lowell High School.
Henry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed overseas in Germany until being honorably discharged.
For many years he worked as a plate maker for Courier Citizen and prior to that, Murray Printing.
He was a communicant of St. Michael's Parish and St. Joseph’s Shrine in Lowell. Henry loved golf and his younger years also enjoyed basketball. He was an avid New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox fan. Most of all he loved supporting and cheering on his grandchildren at their various sporting events.
Henry is survived and will be deeply missed by his five children, Christina Guilmette and her husband Anthony of Lowell, Valerie Stys and her husband Marc Bergeron of New Ipswich, NH, James Stys and his wife Paula of Lowell, Paula Stys of Rindge, NH, and Amy Lizotte and her husband Justin of Reading, MA; his sister, Frances Roseneau and her husband Ernest of Sandown, NH; his sister-in-law, Emily Stys of Falmouth, MA; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his two brothers, Phillip and Leonard Stys, and his sister Anna Manick.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 8:30-10:30 a.m., WEDNESDAY, September 13th, at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. His funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, Lowell. Burial to follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lowell.
