Dracut Town Hall
The Dracut Housing Authority lead by Chair Russ Taylor has been looking to give away the $1,000,000 purchase of land, $3,000,000 worth of seed money to a non-profit / private developer for a 99-year lease. These developers would not be filling those 60 units with Dracut’s very low income seniors of the waiting list.
This is a BAD deal for the low-income seniors, town of DRACUT and was NOT intent of multiple Town Meetings votes.
As you know I’ve been very vocal and concerned about the Bridge St / Greenmont Ave property and senior housing. Well I’m here to report that the DHA has finally listened to me and voted down this proposal after spending quite a bit of taxpayer’s money.
When this project was originally proposed by John Zimini, Ken Martin, Ken Cuhna, Jerry Supernaunt, Phil Thibault and myself, we had a roadmap to success with funding available. Due to the political battles and YES payback by the likes of Joe DiRocco, Russ Taylor over at TOWN HALL WEST the Dracut seniors are the big losers here.
