Habitat For Humanity Of Greater Lowell Will Host Its First Women & Philanthropy: LEGACY Tea

Aug 11, 2017 05:30AM ● By Theresa Gilman

(Editor's Note: the following information was provided by Habitat For Humanity Of Greater Lowell.)

All women, and girls 7 years and older (men and young men are certainly welcome too!) are invited to spend the afternoon with us to celebrate the impact of women, at Concord’s Colonial Inn at 48 Monument Square on Tuesday, Aug 22 at 2:30 pm. Advance Sale Tickets are $35 per person or 2 for $60. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $45 per person.

This multi-generational event will feature inspiring speakers, who will share their unique philanthropic experiences and insights, followed by fun interactive group activities to do together, like assembling blessing bags for homeless women and a creative art project to highlight our partner families.  The event's purpose is to bring together women and girls from all walks of life to celebrate the power of women's philanthropy and to inspire the next generation to give back and ultimately create a culture of giving.

The Keynote speaker is Franky Descoteaux, whose current project, 'Style of Humanity,’ was conceived and developed for the sole purpose of promoting the amazing women in and around Lowell who make our lives better through their daily commitment to run great businesses.  She will discuss how to help illuminate the path ahead toward ultimately creating a culture of giving for the next generation.

Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in stable communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all.

For more information about sponsoring this event or to reserve your tickets, visit, or contact Heidi Tierney at [email protected] or 978-692-0927.

This event is co-sponsored by Concord’s Colonial Inn, Concord Teacakes, and Whole Foods Market. Proceeds support our mission of building affordable homes for deserving low-income families.
