Dracut Police, Emergency Crews Respond To Serious Crash

One person was hospitalized Friday, following a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hildreth and Pleasant Streets, in front of Hannaford's supermarket.

The victim, a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to an area hospital for treatment. No charges have been filed in connection to the crash, but the incident remains under investigation and law enforcement is asking for then public's help in piecing together what happened.

Dracut Police issued the following statement in relation to the accident:

On August 04, 2017 at approximately 5:20 am the Dracut Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a single car at the intersection of Pleasant and Hildreth Streets in Dracut.

Upon arrival Dracut officers discovered that a vehicle traveling east on Pleasant St had swerved off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility box and a “Don’t Walk” signal pole. The crash caused significant damage to the vehicle and injured a passenger seated in the rear seat.

Members of the Dracut Fire Department and Trinity Ambulance provided treatment at the scene and the injured victim was transported to an area hospital for further treatment. 

The Dracut Police Department and The Massachusetts State Police Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit are actively working this ongoing investigation. The Dracut Police would ask anyone who may have witnessed this crash contact The Dracut Police at 978-957-2123.
