Obituary: Ryan R. Gillis, 31

Nashua, NH- Ryan R. Gillis, 31, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, July 30th at Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center. 

Ryan was born in Lowell, MA on June 24, 1986, a son of Elizabeth (Winer) Gillis and Rodger Gillis

He was educated in Lowell Schools and a graduate of Alvirne High School in Hudson NH.

Ryan worked as a food prep and line cook for Palace Pizza in Dracut, Papa Gino's in Chelmsford and most recently for Pressed Cafe in Nashua where he had just been promoted to Chef. 

Ryan was the most selfless person with a heart of gold and loved spending time with his family. His biggest passion was playing video games, especially with his brothers and nephews. He loved getting together during the holidays and was always the first to give everyone a hug and tell them how much he loved them.

Ryan is survived and will be deeply missed by his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth "Missy" Gillis and Mark Gauthier of Hudson, NH; his father, Rodger Gillis and his wife Diane of Chelmsford; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Winer of Nashua, NH; brothers, Rod Gillis of Maynard, MA and Randy Gillis and his wife Christine of Dracut; sister, Amber Brunelle and her husband Paul of Windham, NH; nieces and nephews, Nathaniel, Autumn, Anthony, Skyla, Jackson, Isabella, Benjamin and Chloe; aunts and uncles, Jeffrey Gillis of Dracut, Janet Downey, Rebecca Greenwood, Robert Winer and Heather Winer all of Nashua; as well as many cousins and friends. 

He was predeceased by is paternal grandparents, Roger and Vera Gillis and his maternal grandfather, Robert Winer.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 12 - 1:30 p.m. on FRIDAY, August 4th at the Dracut Funeral Home 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. Burial will follow in Lowell Cemetery in Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ryan's name to :HOPE for NH Recovery PO Box 358 Manchester NH 03105.
