Hell hath no fury.

A 31-year-old Lawrence woman is facing felony charges after allegedly stabbing another woman in the abdomen with a steak knife.

Jeanette Bristol was arraigned Tuesday in Lowell District Court, charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The victim, according to police, was a woman Bristol had spotted in the company of her ex-boyfriend.

According to Dracut Police, the incident took place Tuesday morning, around 3:30 a.m., outside a Pemberton Street address. Dispatch received a call about a stabbing and responding officers stopped a male and a female leaving the area on foot. According to police, the female, identified as Bristol, had what appeared to be blood on the sleeve of her shirt.

According to the police report, a second woman emerged from a residence and told officers she had been stabbed in the abdomen by Bristol. As Bristol was taken into custody, one of the officers administered first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived.

According to the report, unnamed male who officers had stopped with Bristol, and the female victim had returned to the Pemberton Street address after being out earlier in the evening. Leaving the address just before 3:30 a.m., they were confronted by Bristol, who, according to police, was the man's ex-girlfriend. There was an exchange of words before Bristol allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.

Police did not reveal the relationship between the man and the victim or what Bristol was doing outside the residence at 3:30 a.m.

Police reported that the victim and male party had been out earlier in the evening and went to the Pemberton Street address. As they left the address, they were confronted by Bristol, who is reported to be the male's ex-girlfriend. A verbal argument turned physical when Bristol allegedly stabbed the victim in the lower left abdominal area with what police said was a white-handled steak knife.

The victim was transported to Lahey Hospital for medical treatment, according to the release.
