Obituary: Panagiota "Pat" Karabatsos, 94

Lowell, MA - Panagiota "Pat" Karabatsos, 94, died peacefully on Monday, July 3rd, at Lowell General Hospital, with her children by her side. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to the late CSM (Ret.) Antonios Karabatsos.

Panagiota was born in Lowell, MA on March 3,1923, a daughter of the late Gianoula (Alemisis) and Christos Contos.

Pat was a devoted, selfless, and supportive wife and mother. She dedicated her life to her family whom she loved more than anything. As a military wife, Pat and her family moved countless times to places all over the world. She was their constant throughout their entire lives.

Pat is survived by her three children, Cynthia Sabatalo and her husband Angelo of Millbury, MA; Chris Karabatsos of Lowell; and John Karabatsos and his wife Allison of Grayslake, IL; three grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Karabatsos of Scottsdale, AZ, Daniel Karabatsos of Grayslake, IL and SPC Jeremy Karabatsos and his wife Kelsi of Tempe, AZ; her siblings, Catherine Natsios of Dracut, Bessie Bolianites, Effie Contos, and Arthur Contos, all of Lowell; sister-in-law, Koula Karabatsos of Lowell; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Spanos and Alice Koumoutseas.

Pat's family would like the extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to all of the nurses and aides at Lowell General Hospital - Station D3, for all of the love and care they showed to Pat and their family during her time there.
