Raymond F. Mitchell
Raymond was born in Jamaica Plain on September 5, 1935, a son of the late John and Bridget (McKenna) Mitchell. For 18 years, he worked as a truck driver for M & M Transportation, and for many years after worked for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission.
Raymond was a devoted grandfather who loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was witty, and a history buff, who always loved a cold beer with good company. Raymond enjoyed cooking, Irish music, and listening to anything by Johnny Cash.
Raymond is survived by his five children, Debbie Marino and her husband John of Chelmsford, Cheryl Callahan of Dracut, Maureen Mitchell-Tardiff and her husband Allan of Dracut, Michael Mitchell and his wife Stefanie of Lowell, and Grace-Marie Mitchell and her husband Adam Richardson of Dracut; his brother, Kenneth Mitchell of Waltham, MA; his seven grandchildren, David, Diane, Bobby, Jakob, Michaela, Darryl, and Willow; his four great-grandchildren, Cassidy, Keira, Jack, and Lillian, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his beloved wife, Janet, Raymond was predeceased by his seven brothers and one sister.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut on FRIDAY, July 7, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. with a prayer service at the conclusion of calling hours.
