Robert R. “Chopper” Lacourse, Sr.

Robert R. “Chopper” Lacourse, Sr., 76, of Dracut, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Cowgill) Lacourse who survives him and with whom he would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on August 5th of this year.

Among his many interests, he was an avid lover of motorcycle riding, fishing and woodworking. He was always there to lend a hand to family and friends. A “Jack” of all trades, as well as a “Master” of all. His favorite past-time was spending time in the backyard with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Bob is survived and deeply missed by two sons Robert R. Lacourse, Jr. and his wife Mary of Dracut, MA and David M. Lacourse and his wife Lauri of Concord, NH; his daughter-in-law Kerri L. (Powers) Lacourse of Dracut, MA; three grandchildren Kelli, Michael and Brian; two great-grandchildren John and Connor; two sisters Doris Michniewicz and her husband Edward of Louden, NH and Laurette DeBurro and her husband Al of Methuen, MA; two brothers Herve Lacourse and his wife Vicky of Nashua, NH and Roland Lacourse and his wife Pat of Dracut, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also father of the Late William P. Lacourse who died December 6, 2015.
