Muriel A. (D'Amour) Hogan
Muriel was born in Lowell on May 13, 1942, a daughter of the late Roland and Simonne (Desrochers) D'Amour. She was educated in the Lowell school system and a graduate of St Joseph's High School for Girls, where she was a cheerleader.
For over 25 years, she worked as a Supervisor at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA.
Muriel was a communicant of St. Kathryn's Church in Hudson, NH.
Muriel’s pride and joy were her children and grandchildren, whom she adored and lived for. She enjoyed and looked forward to her many luncheons with family and friends, along with her weekly shopping trips with her sister-in-law. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. One of her favorite pastimes was attending her grandson's football and basketball games. She also enjoyed coloring and doing puzzles, along with taking care of her flowers.
Muriel is survived and will be deeply missed by her two children, Deborah A. Hogan and her longtime companion Richard R. Dupuis of Hudson,NH, and her son, Gary S. Hogan of Middletown, OH; four grandchildren, Charlene A. Lang, Alexis M. Hogan, Zachary F. Dupuis and Gary S. Hogan Jr.; a great-grandson and her beloved dog, Snowball. She is also survived by her siblings, Maurice D’Amour and his wife Brenda of Lowell, Richard D’Amour and his wife Collette of Pelham, NH, Pauline Morse and her husband Richard of Westford, Rejane Barsness and her husband Kent of Olympia, WA and Real D’Amour and his wife Joan of Las Vegas, NV, as well as many nieces, nephews and very close friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Gerald F. Hogan Jr. on February 19, 1999; her brother Normand D'Amour and her niece Jennifer D'Amour.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and staff at Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center and Merrimack Valley VNA and Hospice, for all of the compassion and care they showed onto Muriel during her time with them.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 3 -7 p.m. on TUESDAY, June 6th at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Her Funeral will take place from the funeral home 9 a.m. on WEDNESDAY with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. at St. Kathryn’s Church in Hudson, NH. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury, MA. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Muriel's name to the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854.
