PHOTO GALLERY: Dracut High Peer Mentors Stage MOCK Crash

May 22, 2017 05:19AM ● By Bill Gilman
According to the Massachusetts Department of Motor Vehicles, there is no ore dangerous place to be than behind the wheel of a car or riding in a car driven by another teen.
''Motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of teens in the nation. New drivers are four times more likely to be killed and 14 times more likely to be injured than any other group. By a 2-to-1 margin, teens are more likely to kill someone with them than themselves.''
With those sobering numbers in mind,  the Dracut High School Peer Mentors presented a ''Mock Crash'' for classmates, to shine a spotlight on the dangers associated with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, as well as distracted driving.
The presentation, in the school parking lot, was that much more realistic thanks to the participation of the Dracut Police and Fire Departments.
Attached to this story you will find a photo gallery fro the event, made up of photos gathered from the Twitter accounts @dhstpeermmentors, @MrcoddaireVP and @kaseyross22500 .
