John Bruce Coalter
Born in Lowell on June 23, 1945, he was a son of the late John G. and Alice G. (Buckjune) Coalter. John was a graduate of Chelmsford High School, and then went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from the former Lowell Technical Institute.
John proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam
War until being honorably discharged in 1969.
For 22 years, John was a Trooper for the Massachusetts State Police. Prior to that, he was a Master Electrician for Honeywell Corp.
John was a proud member of the Dracut American Legion and the Dracut VFW. His most cherished time was spent surrounded by his family, particularly his grandchildren whom he adored and his beloved animals.
In addition to his wife, Jeannette, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Christopher Coalter and his fiancee Lucille Rossino of Dracut, and Kelley Raymond and her husband Andrew of Pelham, NH; five grandchildren, Hannah and Michaela Coalter, Alyssa and Erin Paradis, and Matthew Raymond; three siblings, William Coalter and his wife Louise of Townsend, Kevin Coalter and his wife Joyce of Derry, NH, and Martha Boulay and her husband Robert of AZ; four brothers and sisters-in law, Paul Morneau and his wife Noreen of ME, Theresa Morneau of Dracut, Patricia Leonard and her husband David of Londonderry, NH, and Roger Morneau of Lowell; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Dracut Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donationes may be made in John’s name to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
