Leezandra Aponte

LOWELL - Leezandra Aponte, 36, a longtime resident of Lowell died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from injuries sustained in an accident. She dedicated her life to being the best mother she could be to her beloved Ricardo, Fabiola, and Valeria.

She was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico on November 19, 1980, and was a daughter of Mario Barriera and Sandra M. Ortiz of Lowell. Leezandra loved her Puerto Rican heritage, especially her home city of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico where she lived until the age of 10. When she emigrated to the United States with her family, they moved to Lowell, which she has called home ever since. She attended Lowell High School.

Leezandra's passion in life was decorating for parties and events, especially when it involved her beloved family and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving. Another reason that she loved to throw parties is because it gave her a chance to showcase her love for cooking and an opportunity to listen to music, especially Salsa and Latin music. She also never passed up the opportunity to sing Karaoke.

In addition to her mother and father, Leezandra is survived by her three loving children, Ricardo M Berrios Aponte, whom she was proud of him being the first one in the family to graduate high school, Fabiola M. Berrios Aponte, and Valeria M. Berrios Aponte, all of Lowell; her fiancé, Jose Lopez of Lowell; her three brothers, Ricardo J. Aponte of Lowell, Luis G. Aponte and his wife Erica of Lowell, and Orlando L. Aponte and his wife Kimberly of Dracut; two sisters, Jeannette Aponte of Lowell and Alysha Aponte of Orlando, FL; her maternal grandmother, Maria Ortiz of Puerto Rico; her god children, Alayna Aponte and Juliany Alicea; her nieces and nephews, Adrianna Aponte, Luis Aponte, Z'nyahlyze Aponte, Jandiel Aponte, Gio Aponte, Janiel Aponte, Gabriel Rodriguez, Jazlyn Aponte, Joeliel Aponte, and Lexa Aponte; her close friends, Niritza Andino of Lowell, Sulay of Lowell, Lucy Ortiz of Lowell, and Yadira Aponte of FL; and many, aunts, uncles, and cousins, both here and in Puerto Rico.
