Obituary: Robert A. "Whitey" White, 80

DRACUT, MA- Robert A. "Whitey" White, 80, died peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Jean "Jeannie" M. (Hickey) White.

Born in St. Albans, VT on May 18, 1936, he was a son of the late Cpt. Arthur and Ruth (Calkins) White. Robert was a graduate of Dracut High School, and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Lowell Technical Institute. Prior to his retirement, he spent his career working as an Engineer for Western Electric and retired from Lucent Technologies. He was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Robert was an avid New England Sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics. He also enjoyed being outdoors and tending to his yard, as well as playing softball with his friends. 

In addition to his wife, Jeannie, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his three daughters, Sherrie Ninteau and her husband John, Kathie Monoxelos and Patricia Lynne Nickerson and her husband Kevin; four stepdaughters, Kendra Boccelli and her husband Casey, Melissa Boccelli, Christina Caras and Pamela Radgowski and her husband Todd; 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Jeffrey, Meghan, Nicolle, Katie, CJ, Peter, Catherine, Timothy and Daniel; 7 step grandchildren, Courtney, Ryan, Eric, Lucy, Poppy, Jacob and Zachary; 15 great-grandchildren, Zackary, Jayden, Kylie, Colton, Jameson, Troy, Jayson, Ryan, Cody, Olivia, Avery, Madilyn, Abigail, Lucy and Stella; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Robert was predeceased by his former wife and mother of his 3 daughters, Elizabeth; his sister, Ruth Anne Reed, and his brother, Edward White.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on TUESDAY, May 9th from 10-12 noon at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home directly following calling hours at noon. Burial will take place in Oakland Cemetery.
