MSP Conducting Enhanced High Visibility Traffic Enforcement Effort

Starting this week the Springfield State Police Barracks will be conducting a two week enhanced high visibility traffic enforcement effort with the goal of reducing injuries and fatalities in motor vehicle crashes.  Specific focus will be on speeding, OUI alcohol/ drugs, adult and child restraint systems, and distracted driving. The initiative consists of, at a minimum, two hours of dedicated enforcement per shift, with a team of at least two troopers, in one of three designated zones. At the conclusion of the initiative, enforcement action statistics will be compiled. High visibility and public awareness are components of this effort with the goal of reducing injuries and fatalities in motor vehicle crashes.
