Obituary: Joseph W. Nutter, Jr., 71

Joseph W. Nutter, Jr.

LOWELL - Joseph W. Nutter, Jr., age 71, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died April 13, 2017 at Northwood Nursing & Rehab following a period of declining health.  He has been the beloved companion of Patricia Nicholson, for 35 years.

Born in the Lowell Jan. 28, 1946, he was son of the late Joseph W. Nutter, Sr. & Winifred (Surprenant) Nutter.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a Facilities Maintenance Director for local healthcare facilities for several years.  Previously he worked for many years as a machinist at local area companies.  He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
Besides his beloved companion, Patricia, with whom he resided, he is survived by a son, Joseph W. Nutter, III of Lowell;  a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & John Normandie of Westford; two stepchildren, Christine Fraser and Lisa Nicholson; two brothers, James Nutter and his wife Sandra of Dracut, and Paul Nutter of Lowell; two sisters, Alexandra El-Amrani of Derry, NH and Donna Gauthier of NY; also 6 grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.  He was also father of the late Shawn Nutter. 

His family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire staff for their kind compassionate care and support while at Northwood.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will take place from 4:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at the M.R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, MA 01854.  Funeral Wednesday Morning with a Prayer Service to take place in the Funeral Home at 9:30 AM.  Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. For those who wish, memorials to the Jimmy Fund or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
