Joann (Abbott) Luis
Joann (Abbott) Luis, 70, of Dracut, passed away Saturday March 25th at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Gower) Abbott.
Joann had been an area resident all her life. She was retired from C. R. Bard Inc. where she worked in quality control and volunteered at the Collins Bowladrome where she made many friends with members of the leagues. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending Saturday nights playing Keno with her husband. Joann loved all things Elvis Presley and spending time with her grandchildren, she was very proud when she became a great-grandmother.
She was pre-deceased by her brother David Abbott formerly of Lowell. Joann is survived by her loving husband Orlando Luis of Dracut, they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. Two daughters; Shannon and her husband William Gosse of Tewksbury, and Heather Landry of Lowell. Three sons; George Luis and his wife Kerry of Nashua, NH, Sean Luis of Dracut, Mike Luis of Germany, and one brother Roger Abbott and his wife Juanita of Dracut and two sisters Debra Bolio and Sandra Baxter. There are six grandchildren; Kenneth Bailey II, Kaitlyn Bailey, Nikole Gosse, Kaleb Palmer, Skyla-Jo Landry, and Penelope Rich. One great-grandson Nathan Brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in Joann's memory to American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
Family and friends are invited to attend Joann's funeral Mass on Friday, March 31 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Rd, Dracut, MA. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd, Dracut.
