Richard A. Mealey, Jr.
Born in Lowell on May 13, 1964, he was a son of Judith Anne (Davidson) and Richard A, Mealey, Sr. Upon graduating high school, Richard went on to attend Umass Boston where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology. He spent his career working as a Scientist for Adnexus Therapeutics, and most recently LIB Therapeutics.
Richard was a devoted family man, and cherished the time he spent with them dearly, particularly when they would go walking and hiking together. He also enjoyed going for bike rides and watching football.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his two children, Eric Emilio Mealey and Erin Elizabeth Mealey, both of Hudson, NH; a sister, Kelley Mealey Tierney and her husband Michael of Lowell; a mother-in-law, Rita L. Gehalo of Dracut; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Donna Gehalo of Dracut, Karen Thompson of Sommersworth, NH; Kenneth and Karen Gehalo of Freemont, NH, and Kathleen Harrison and her husband Dave of NC, formerly of NH; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Richard's Life on MONDAY, February 27th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. His funeral service will take place directly following the Celebration of Life at 4 p.m. inside the funeral home. Committal will be held privately.
