John A. “Johnny G” Gregoire
Born in Lowell, John was the son of Roland J. and the late Beatrice (Rocha) Gregoire. He graduated from Greater Lowell Vocational High School with the class of 1978.
John was a talented local musician and private music tutor who was skilled in the bass, the guitar, and keyboard. He taught music at the Russo Music Center and Daddy’s Junky Music where he enjoyed interacting with his students. Over the course of his career, John played in various bands of different genres and later focused his attention on teaching his niece and nephew in his home. In his spare time, he enjoyed jamming with his friends, Karaoke, and swimming with his daughter. Recently, John became a member of the Tewksbury/Wilmington Lodge of Elks where he made many new friends.
John is survived and will be deeply missed by his beloved life partner, Doreen Mulroney of Dracut; his children, Todd and Sylvie Gregoire both of Lowell; siblings, Lisa Snell and her companion Steve of Dunstable, Patricia Lauziere and her husband Kevin of Pepperell, and Michele Paul of Dracut; nieces and nephews, Mandi, Tess, Evan, Emily, and Noah; two great-nieces, Karsci and Vera; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was predeceased by his brother, David Gregoire, who passed in 2006.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on FRIDAY, February 17, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. John's service will take place from the funeral home on Saturday, February 18 at 9 a.m. with his Funeral Mass to follow at 10 a.m. in St. Rita's Church, Lowell. Burial will be held subsequently at Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s memory to the Lowell Transitional Living Center, 205-209 Middlesex Street, Lowell 01852.
