Obituary: Tracey E. (Montmarquet) Roy, 44

DRACUT, MA- Tracey E. (Montmarquet) Roy, 44, died peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Donald J. Roy, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.

She was born on August 8, 1972, a daughter of Pauline (Rainville) and Alfred Montmarquet, Sr. of Lowell. Tracey was a graduate of the Lowell Academy of Hairstyling, and then went on to spend her career working as a hairstylist for over 22 years. Along with her best friend, Mary Georgoulis, she opened and co-owned the Hair on Broadway salon in Dracut. 

She was known for her gracious personality and her love of Elvis Presley music. In her spare time she enjoyed photography and knitting, and would share her love of knitting with anyone who wanted to learn. She and her husband, whom she affectionately called her 'soul-mate', also own the Pawtucketville Diner, on Mammoth Road, in Lowell.

In addition to her husband, she is survived and will be deeply missed by her three children, Kristie Montmarquet, Jamie Roy, and Derek Roy, all of Dracut; three siblings, Laurie Boumil and her husband William, Jay Montmarquet and his wife Jillian, and Lisa Montmarquet and her companion Aaron Powers; a paternal grandmother, Doris Montmarquet; and a maternal grandmother Irene Rainville, both of Lowell. Among her large extended family are a cousin: Kim Richard, who worked tirelessly as a caregiver; and her godmother: Elaine Thibeault; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, friends, and 'Team Tracey' supporters.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on WEDNESDAY, February 8th from 3 to 8 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home at 9 a.m. on THURSDAY, February 9thwith her Funeral Mass directly following at 10 a.m. in Ste. Marguerite D'Youville Parish, Dracut.
