Eugenie H. Corcoran
LOWELL - Eugenie H. Corcoran, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital - Saints Campus after a brief illness.
She was born in Lowell on July 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Thibeault) Corcoran. Eugenie was a lifelong resident of Lowell and communicant of the former Ste. Jeanne d'Arc Parish.
In her early years, she worked in the Lowell mills as a knitter at Lawrence Manufacturing and Ames Textile. Eugenie went on to work at AVCO in Lowell where she was employed as a plastic gunner making the heat shields for the Apollo program. Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was employed at Raytheon in S. Lowell for twenty five years where she received a commendation from the US Air Force for her work on the defense missile system.
Among her many interests, Eugenie was an avid bingo player and enjoyed bowling, crocheting, traveling and camping at Lake Winnipesaukee. She dedicated many years to taking care of her mother and sister. She was always there for her nieces and nephews and was the favorite aunt.
She is survived by a dear niece, Barbara Fitzpatrick of Dracut and dear nephews, Roger Belanger of Florida and Victor Belanger and his wife Dorothy of South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Alice (Mandeville) Corcoran of Lowell and Colomb (Corcoran) Adams of Windsor Locks, CT; also many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph, Albert, Leo, Wilfred and Robert Corcoran, Theresa Belanger, Jeannette Rondeau and Estelle Corcoran.
