Donald E. "Don" St.Hilaire, 60
Born in Lowell on February 14, 1956, he was a son of the late Paul and Claire (Rondeau) St.Hilaire. Don began working as a plumber’s apprentice at 13 years of age. Upon graduating from Dracut High School, Don spent several years working by day and attending school at night to eventually earn the rank of Master Plumber in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. His skill, education and entrepreneurial spirit led him to found a highly successful local business, Don St.Hilaire Plumbing & Heating, which he owned and operated for over 30 years.
Don enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, or falling asleep on the beach. He loved to sing, and his knack for belting out spontaneous renditions of his favorite Elvis tunes always made him the life of the party. He will be remembered by many for his larger than life personality and readiness to drop whatever he was doing to help a friend in need. Above all, spending time with family was most important to Don.
In addition to his wife, Jeanne, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his four children, Aimee Hutchinson and her husband Michael, Laurie Lacharite and her husband Jeff, Stacy Gorham and her husband Jonathan, and Donald P. St.Hilaire; five grandchildren, Cole, Nick, Lexi, Hailey, and Gage; six siblings, Paul St.Hilaire and his wife Kathy, Robert St.Hilaire and his partner Joanne Allard, Suzanne St.Hilaire, Roland "Pete" St.Hilaire and his wife Judy, Dianne Caron, and Paula L'Heureux and her husband Marc, and many nieces and nephews.
