Obituary: Ines Machado, 60

LOWELL, MA- Ines Machado, 60, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital.

Born in Madeira, Portugal on April 29, 1956, she was a daughter of the late Lucio and Maria Isaura (DeFreitas Morna) Machado, both of Tyngsboro. Ines was a graduate of Lowell High School, and then went on to attend Northeastern University. In the early days of her career, she was the VP of Operations at Spectrum Training. She went on to spend most of her career working as a successful Business Analyst and eventually created her own consulting firm, Sistemics.

Ines is survived and will be deeply missed by her sisters, Cecilia DeFreitas and her husband Joseph of FL, M. Margarida Goes and her husband Nelson, and Manuela Veiga and her husband Manuel, all of Tyngsboro; an aunt, Maria Ferreira and her husband Joel of Nashua; her uncle and Godfather, Rev. Orlando Morna of Madeira, Portugal; and her nieces and nephews, Patricia Muscato and her husband Matthew, Jennifer McDougal and her husband Robert, Nelson C. Goes II and his wife Michelle, Katherine M. Goes and her fiancée Joseph Gugliotta, and Jonathan A. Veiga; her seven great nieces and nephews, Maeve, Molly, Emma, Mia, Braedon, Reese, and Gabriella; as well as cousins in the US and Portugal. She was also the sister of the late Maria Margarida Machado. 

Ines will be remembered for her great love for her family especially her nephews, nieces, great nephew and great niece; for the empathy she had for those in need and her generous heart. She loved gardening, music, family gatherings and caring for the family pets. Her creativity, drive, tenacity, pride and sense of style were reflected in every aspect of her life, whether personal or business related. 

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on SATURDAY, January 21, 2017 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. A Funeral Mass will be held subsequently at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Magdalen Church in Tyngsboro, with burial to follow at Tyngsboro Memorial Cemetery.
