Ann “Annie” (Higgason) (Crider) Merrill

 Lowell, MA - Ann “Annie” (Higgason) (Crider) Merrill, 82, a long-time Dracut resident, died peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul Merrill.

Born in Mount Pleasant, NY on June 20, 1934, Ann was a daughter to the late Elizabeth (Hughes) and William Higgason. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a switch board operator at Lowell General Hospital for many years.

Ann always had a smile on her face and was often called a ray of sunshine by many. She always stayed positive and lived for helping others.

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her children, James Crider of Washington State, Bill Crider and his wife Derry of Raymond, NH, and Beth Enwright and her husband Bill of Dracut; her ten grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband, Paul, Ann was predeceased by her son, John Crider.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on FRIDAY, January 13, 2017 from 3-7 p.m. at the DRACUT funeral home. Her service will take place following calling hours. Spring burial will take place in Richardson Cemetery, Dracut. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann’s honor to The Joseph Middlemiss Big Heart Foundation, PO Box 428, Dracut, MA 01826.
